Vex Platform

Vex Robotics is a platform with many different types of robotics programs for different age groups. First, Vex IQ is designed to teach STEM concepts to younger students in elementary and middle schools. The pieces used in Vex IQ are snap-together plastic pieces, made so younger students can learn and build quicker.

Then there is Vex EDR robotics, the main program is for Middle and High schoolers. The pieces used in this program are metal, and require tools to assemble. This is the competition our team is competing in. The metal pieces are more complex and harder to build with, but there are more possibilities and the robot is stronger with the metal. Vex EDR robotics is the main program of the Vex platform, and IQ and pro was made after EDR to expand the age group of VEX robotics.

Vex PRO is a program added to the Vex EDR platform. The idea of Vex PRO is that there are different pieces that all “just work” together. They are added pieces to the Vex EDR platform and create more possibilities to build with.
